24th of February, 1977
The Stones booked the El Mocambo Tavern (462-464, Spadina Ave., Toronto, Ontario.) for recording session on March 4th
and 5th, for the forthcoming live album, "Love You Live". The band's third official full-length live release. The other members had
already assembled, awaiting Richards, and sent him a telegram asking him where he was.

Richards and his family flew in from London and were detained by Canada Customs after igniting suspicion by spending a few hours
in an airplane washroom. Anita Pallenberg was found in possession of a burnt spoon and hash residue.

February 26th, 1977 to early March. Rehearsals in Toronto, at the Cine-a-Vision Studio for the upcoming El Mocambo gigs.

February 27th, after two days of Stones rehearsals, the RCMP armed with an arrest warrant for Anita Pallenberg,
the Royal Canadian Mounted Police discovered "22 grams of heroin and a fifth of an ounce of cocaine" in Richards' room at the
Harbour Castle Hotel. Richards was charge not just with possession, but trafficking narcotics into Canada, which carries a
seven-year to life sentence if convicted. With Richards passport confiscated he and his family remained in Toronto until April 1st,
when Richards was allowed to enter the United States on a medical visa for treatment for heroin addiction.

March 4th
Despite the arrest, the Stones played the two low-key shows to a crowed
of 300 at the El Mocambo. A local radio station, 1050 CHUM, ran a contest
for free tickets to see April Wine whom booked concerts for the week at
the tavern. The winners were allowed to pick a night to see the band. The
winners that picked tickets for the Friday or Saturday night were surprised
to find that the Stones were playing.

More controversy followed when Margaret Trudeau, then-wife of Prime Minister
Pierre Trudeau, throws an after-party for the band at their hotel. She also
books herself a suite at the Castle Harbour where she's reported pursuing
a particular band member through the corridors, thus creating a bit of a
fuss on a national scale.

for Richards, a blind fan pleaded on his behalf. Since he's not likely to steal for his habit, which is the court's main
